We were called to a home in Swanson to investigate a roof leak. The home had a steep 75-degree roof pitch, and our inspection found that the existing decramastic tiles had reached the end of their life and contained asbestos. With difficult access and scaffolding required, the project needed careful planning before the full re-roof could begin.
The owners of this Beach Haven home contacted us after their decramastic tile roof developed multiple leaks. The roof also had dents and rust, particularly along the ridges. We initially applied a temporary silicone seal to temporarily stop water entering the home before proposing a full roof replacement.
The owners rang us about a leak in the hallway. What they actually had was a decramastic roof at the end of its life, and a patch repair would have been money down the drain.
