We were called to a home in Swanson to investigate a roof leak. The home had a steep 75-degree roof pitch, and our inspection found that the existing decramastic tiles had reached the end of their life and contained asbestos. With difficult access and scaffolding required, the project needed careful planning before the full re-roof could begin.

Our asbestos team safely removed the existing roofing before we completed a full re-roof using COLORSTEEL 0.55 MAXAM corrugated iron in Karaka. We also re-purlined the roof and coordinated plumbing alterations to improve the existing roof penetrations and improve the flashing and weatherproofing around them.
From the initial inspection through to completion, the project took approximately eight weeks, with the on-site roofing work completed in around two and a half weeks over summer. The end-of-life decramastic roof was replaced with a new COLORSTEEL roofing system.The work also improved the flashing and weatherproofing around the roof penetrations.
